The Lunenburg County driver of a compact multi-purpose vehicle was issued a pair of summary offence tickets resulting from a road rage incident on the east side of town.
The 39-year-old man was charged with driving left of the centre line and failing to operate a motor vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.
Bridgewater Police Service recently ticketed the motorist following an investigation into the matter, which occurred just before 8 p.m. Oct. 5.
Law enforcement, paramedics and Bridgewater volunteer firefighters were sent to two parking lots: one near the corner of Aberdeen Road and Hirtle Drive; the other at the corner of Davison Drive and LaHave Street. A Mazda 5 vehicle was found at one site with major back-end damage, while a Dodge Ram truck - which sustained front end damage - was situated at the other location.
The investigation showed one vehicle was tailgating (and its driver honking the horn) as both vehicles travelled in the same westbound direction on Aberdeen Road. At one point, the tailgating vehicle passed the other on Aberdeen Road and subsequently came to a stop, causing a rear-end crash.
Each vehicle pulled off into different parking lots and the occupants placed 911 calls for help.
Three people in the Dodge Ram were not seriously hurt. The driver of the Mazda was taken to South Shore Regional Hospital by ambulance and later released.
