Three young people charged with breaking into King Street business
Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026
Bridgewater Police Service filed multiple charges against a trio of young men after an overnight break-in at a King Street business.
On Oct. 13, at about 1:30 a.m., officers were notified by a caller reporting a break-in in progress.
Law enforcement converged on the south King Street neighbourhood near Old Bridge Street and Dominion Street, including Bridgewater Police Service’s K9 unit (police dog Keiji and his handler, Const. Morgan Gibson).
Two suspects fled on foot but one was apprehended immediately on scene. The second was arrested in an area near the corner of King Street and Phoenix Street. The third suspect was taken custody after Keiji and Const. Gibson located articles of evidentiary value and, with the aid of another officer, tracked the suspect's movements until they boxed him in and made the arrest.
There were no injuries.
The trio are each accused of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, property mischief under $5,000 (damage to windows) and theft under $5,000 (stealing merchandise and cash).
Two have additional charges of breaching court-ordered conditions as one was on house arrest at the time; the other a nightly curfew.
By law, none of the young people - residents of Lunenburg County - can be identified because they are under 18.
Two accused were released pending their next youth court appearances in Bridgewater. The other is remanded until at least his next court appearance in late October.
The investigation is ongoing.
