Motorists are asked to be aware of new no-parking signage installed around the Kinsmen Athletic Field neighbourhood. Bylaw enforcement will be in the area ensuring parking rules are being followed.
“We don’t want to hand out parking fines – that’s not our first instinct,” said Special Const. Jerome Richard, bylaw enforcement officer, Bridgewater Police Service. “We’d sooner have drivers pay attention to the signs, be mindful of what’s permitted and park in a safe manner.”
Areas of restricted parking include Crescent Street, Oak Street, Spruce Street, Alexandra Avenue and Maple Street.
The Kinsmen Athletic Field is a Bridgewater-owned site located on the west side of town. The field typically hosts soccer, track, football and other large events throughout the year.
Bridgewater Police Service is actively monitoring parking compliance in other parts of town, in addition to the Kinsmen Athletic Field area.
Anyone with parking concerns is asked to contact Bridgewater Police Service at 902-543-2464.
