Subject: Male charged following attempted stabbing (FILE #2025-1037486)
BRIDGEWATER – Police would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed an attempted stabbing in the High Street area of the community over the weekend.
On July 19, 2025, Bridgewater Police Service responded to a 911 call at about 10:40 p.m. The call reported that a male was attempting to stab another male.
Upon investigation, police learned that no injuries were sustained as a result of the reported incident.
Police later located and arrested a male matching the description provided to police nearby in a room at the Bridgewater Motel. The alleged weapon was located in the room after police executed a search warrant.
Stemming from the arrest, Brandon Goodwin has been charged with:
- Assault with a weapon per Section 267(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace per Section 88(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Goodwin was remanded into custody and was scheduled to appear on Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Bridgewater Provincial Courthouse.
