Youths charged with assault causing bodily harm

A teenage boy sustained serious injuries resulting from a recent assault.
On Oct. 5, Bridgewater Police Service learned of video footage of an altercation, which took place a few days prior, on Oct. 2.
The video showed a young man on the ground and four individuals carrying out an assault. The victim was subjected to blows to the head and kicks to the back and ribs. This assault was due to an earlier altercation between some of the parties.
Police charged three young girls and one young man each with one count of assault causing bodily harm. They were released and will appear in youth court in early December in Bridgewater.
All accused are Lunenburg County residents. By law, none of them can be identified because they are under 18.
The matter remains under investigation.
