The
South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit came into effect
April 1st, 2007. The new Street Crime Enforcement
Units are
as a result of the Provincial Priorities. “Safe Home’s and Safe
Communities”.
The South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) consists of four Police Officers. They are responsible for the Lunenburg and Queens Detachment. SCEU has three RCMP officers and one Municipal Police officer. The members in the Street Crime Unit are:

Search Warrant - CONTROLLED DRUGS AND SUBSTANCES ACT
2010-03-01 Farmington Road, Lunenburg County
The South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SSISCEU) with the assistance of the Lunenburg County District RCMP and the "H" Division Police Dog Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence on the Farmington Road, Lunenburg County. Police seized a large quantity of marihuana plants and several unsafely stored firearms.
A 29 year old male from the Farmington Road is facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for illegal production of marihuana and charges under the Criminal Code for unsafe storage of firearms.
The male is to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on April 28th 2010 for election and plea.

Marijuana Eradication Program
As part of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police's annual Marijuana Eradication Program, approximately 100 marijuana plants were seized in Lunenburg County during an operation carried out on September 14th, 2009.
The RCMP Marijuana Grow Operations Team, in cooperation with RCMP Lunenburg County District, South Shore Integrated Street Crime Team and Bridgewater Police Service participated as part of an intensive effort to eradicate outdoor marijuana grow operations throughout Nova Scotia.
The RCMP needs the public's assistance in eradicating marijuana grow-ops in Nova Scotia. We encourage the public to report suspicious behaviour to local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
Cocaine Seizure-Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
2009-09-25- Hwy 103, East River, Lunenburg County
As a result of a lengthy drug trafficking investigation members of the South Shore Integrated Street Crime unit with the assistance of the Lower Sackville RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit and the Lunenburg County District Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) arrested a Martins River couple during a traffic stop in the East River area of Highway 103. A quantity of crack cocaine was seized.
Fifty-one year old Judy Ann DEMONT and forty five year old Stephen Patrick SMITH, both of Martins River, Lunenburg County, have been charged with trafficking crack cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking crack cocaine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Both DEMONT and SMIT were released from custody and will be appearing in Bridgewater Provincial Court on November 18th, 2009 to answer to the charges.

2009-08-12 Petite Riviere, Lunenburg County

with the assistance of the Lunenburg County District Royal Canadian
Mounted Police (RCMP) , the RCMP Police Dog Service and the Bridgewater
Police Service General Investigation Section executed a CONTROLLED DRUGS
AND SUBSTANCES ACT Search Warrant at a residence on the Italy Cross
Road, Petite Riviere, Lunenburg County. Police seized a quantity of
Marihuana Plants, Ecstasy and prescription medication.
A 38 year old female is facing charges under Controlled Drugs and
Substances Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater
Provincial Court on October 7th, 2009 for plea.
2009-04-29 Search Warrant - Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
The South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the Lunenburg County District RCMP and the Bridgewater Police Service General Investigation Section, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence on Bridgeview Drive, Gold River, Lunenburg County.
Police seized an indoor Marihuana grow operation involving 347 Marihuana plants, electrical equipment and fertilizers. Unsafe stored firearms were also seized.
A 38 year old male and a 32 year old female couple from Bridgeview Drive, Gold River, Lunenburg County are facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Criminal Code for the production of Marihuana and the unsafe storage of firearms. The couple are scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on June 17th, 2009 for election and plea.
2009-03-21 Search Warrant - Federal Excise Act
The South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit with assistance of the Lunenburg County District RCMP and the Bridgewater Police Service, executed a Federal Excise Act Search Warrant at a residence on the Upper Branch Road, Upper Branch, Lunenburg County. Police seized a quantity of illegal cigarettes.
A 39 year old male from the Upper Branch Road area of Lunenburg County is facing charges under the Federal Excise Act and Provincial Revenue Act for possessing illegal tobacco. The male is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on June 3rd, 2009 for election and plea.
2009-03-27 Search Warrant - Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
On March 27, 2009, the South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit with the assistance of the Bridgewater Police Service, Lunenburg County District RCMP and the "H" Division Police Service Dog, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence on Beech Hill Road, Gold River, Lunenburg County.
Police seized an indoor marihuana grow operation containing 18 marihuana plants, grow lights, marihuana, and an unsafely stored firearm during the search.
A Beech Hill Road resident is facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for production of a controlled substance (marihuana), possession of marihuana, and unsafe storage of a long barrel firearm. No court date has been set as of yet. Police are continuing their investigation.
2009-01-06 Search Warrant - Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
The South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SSISCEU) with the assistance of the RCMP Chester Office, the RCMP Police dog Service and the Bridgewater Police Service General Investigation Section, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence on Dorey Park Road, Martin's Point, Lunenburg County. Police seized a quantity of Marihuana and drug paraphernalia.
A 47 year old male and a 51 year old female from Dorey Park Road, Martin's Point, are facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. No court date has been set.
The SSISCEU are continuing their investigation.
2008-10-16 -Search Warrant - Controlled Drug and Substance Act

The South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SSISCEU) with the assistance of the Lunenburg District Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Chester office and the RCMP Police Service Dog executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act Search Warrant on a residence in East Chester, Lunenburg County.
Police seized two pounds of processed Marihuana Bud, large quantity of cash, electronic scales and drug paraphernalia used to distribute / traffic Marihuana.
One adult male from East Chester is facing charges of Possession of Marihuana for the purpose of Trafficking. The adult male is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on December 17th.
The SSISCEU are continuing their investigation.
2008-10-16 - Search Warrant - Controlled Drug and Substance Act
The
South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SSISCEU) with the
assistance of the Lunenburg District Royal Canadian Mounted Police
(RCMP) Chester office and the RCMP Police Service Dog executed a
Controlled Drug and Substance Act Search Warrant on a residence in
Chester, Lunenburg County.
Police seized in excess of thirteen pounds of processed Marihuana Bud, Several Thousand dollars in cash, electronic scales and drug paraphernalia used to distribute / traffic Marihuana.
Two adult males from Chester are facing charges of Possession of Marihuana for the purpose of Trafficking. Both males are scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on December 17th.
The SSISCEU are continuing their investigation.
2008-10-02
Police Disrupt Organized Crime Group in Lunenburg and Queens County
After a lengthy investigation, the South Shore
Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SSISCEU), with the assistance
of the Bridgewater Police Service (BPS) General Investigation Section
(GIS) and Criminal Intelligence Service Nova Scotia (CISNS) disrupted an
organized crime group in Lunenburg and Queens County.
With the assistance of the Lunenburg and Queens District RCMP, Bridgewater Police Service and the RCMP Police Service Dog, three Controlled Drug and Substance Act Search Warrants were executed in Lunenburg and Queens County. Three adult males and two adult females were arrested and held in custody.
Police seized in excess of 65 pounds of Marihuana and a small quantity of Cocaine with an estimated street value of $370,000. Search Warrants were effected in Danesville, Queens County and Cookville and Lower Branch, Lunenburg County.
Charges range from Possession of Cocaine, Trafficking in Marihuana, Possession of Marihuana for the purpose of Trafficking and Production of Cannabis Marihuana. All five persons are facing a number of charges under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act and are scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on December 17th for election and plea.
This operation caps 18 months of operations conducted by the SSISCEU. During this period, the SSISCEU has effected in excess of 2.4 million dollars worth of drugs, half a million dollars worth of stolen property, and a significant quantity of illegal cigarettes. In addition they have played a role in a number of major crime investigations on the South Shore. This has resulted in considerable disruption of criminal activities on the South Shore and a 30% reduction in property crimes.
The SSISCEU, BPS GIS and CISNS are continuing their investigation.
The SSISCEU and CISNS Units are funded through the Department of Justice, and consists of 3 RCMP investigators and on Bridgewater Police service Officer. The CISNS Unit consists of one RCMP and one BPS Officer, while BPS GIS Section consists of 2 BPS investigators.
This integrated investigative unit are co-located and work from the Bridgewater Police Service building in Bridgewater, providing investigative support focused on mid-level organized crime groups on the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

County.
Police seized several Marihuana Plants from the property along with Marihuana and Drug paraphernalia from the residence.
A 56 year old male from Lapland is facing charges for Production of Marihuana and Possession of Marihuana. The male is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on October 29th for election and plea.

a property in Newburne, Lunenburg County.
Police seized several Marihuana Plants from the property. SSICEU are continuing their investigation and charges of Production of Marihuana are expected.

- Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
On September 4th, 2008 the South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SSISCEU) with the assistance of the Lunenburg District RCMP (Bridgewater Office) and the Queens District RCMP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on the East Port Medway road in Mill Village, Queens County.
Several pounds of harvested Marihuana was seized from the residence along with a large quantity of Marihuana plants from the property.
A Mill Village couple are facing charges for Production of Marihuana and Possession of Marihuana for the purposes of Trafficking. The couple are to appear in Liverpool Provincial Court on October 21st, 2008 for election and plea. SSISCEU are continuing their investigation.

On July 22nd, 2008, members of the South Shore
Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, (SCEU) with the assistance of
the Queens County District RCMP and the Bridgewater Police Service GIS,
executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a
residence on the County Line Road in Danesville, Queens County. A small
Marihuana grow operation was discovered along with several maturing
Marihuana plants that were in a wooded area behind the house. A 41 year
old male resident of the County Line Road is being investigated for
Production and Possession of Marihuana. The street Crime Enforcement
Unit and Queens District RCMP are continuing their investigation.![]()
On July 21st, 2008, members of the Street Crime
Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the Bridgewater Police Service
General Investigative Section and the Lunenburg County District RCMP,
conducted a vehicle stop in the Hebbs Cross area of Lunenburg County and
seized a substantial quantity of Marihuana and Cocaine. 31 year old
Jason Ashley DALBY of the Middlewood Diversion Road, Lunenburg County,
is facing charges of possessing Marihuana and Cocaine for the Purpose of
Trafficking. 24 year old Sunny Gaudreau MOORE of East Clifford,
Lunenburg County, is facing charges of Possession of Marihuana for the
Purpose of Trafficking. Both men are scheduled to appear in Bridgewater
Provincial Court on October 15th, 2008 to answer to the charges.![]()
On June 27th, 2008, the South Shore Street Crime
Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the Lunenburg County District
RCMP and the Bridgewater Police Service General Investigative Section,
executed two CDSA Warrants at residences in Robinson's Corner and the
Lower Grant Road in Lunenburg County. A 25 year old Robinson's Corner
man is facing charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
Marihuana and Trafficking Cocaine and Marihuana. A 26 year old Lower
Grant Road man is facing charges of possession of Marihuana and illegal
tobacco. A 24 year old female from Robinson's Corner and a 23 year old
female from Lower Grant Road are facing charges for Possession of
Marihuana. All four individuals are scheduled to appear in Bridgewater
Provincial Court on August 27th, 2008 to answer to the charges. On June 17th, 2008, members of the South Shore
Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of Queens
District RCMP, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search
Warrant at a residence on Old Bridge Street in Liverpool, Queens County.
A quantity of Cocaine and Marihuana was seized. 30 year old Amy Lou WARD
of Old Bridge Street, Liverpool, has been charged with Trafficking in
Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine and Marihuana. WARD was also in breach of
her conditional Sentence order (house arrest). WARD is scheduled to
appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on June 18th, 2008, to answer to
the charges.![]()
35 year old Shaun Michael WEAGLE of Old Bridge Street, Liverpool, has been charged with Possession of cocaine and Marihuana and Breaching an Undertaking in relation drug charges that are presently before the Courts. WEAGLE is to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on June 18th, 2008 to answer to the new charges.
A total of 11 persons (Young Persons and Adults) were arrested as a result of this investigation. The Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit and the Queens District RCMP are continuing their investigation and further charges are anticipated.
