Food Drive for the Bridgewater Inter-Church Food Bank: December 5th, 2009.

The South Shore Paramedics and the Bridgewater Police Service raised approximately $3000 in goods and cash for the Bridgewater Interchurch Food Bank. We would like to thank all who were so generous with their donations.

The Police and Paramedics had a friendly challenge to see who could raise more food and cash,
The Superstore felt this Event would be the perfect kick off for their national food drive campaign which is an annual event.
It was extremely nice of them to allow us to join them, they fed the volunteers, donated groceries and prizes to the drive
as well as allowing us use of their store and parking lot.

They even had Santa drop in to visit, much to the delight of the younger community members.

The Bridgewater Police Service got into the spirit with each shift trying to out donate each other and putting their police van
on their front lawn for a couple weekends prior to the event, they raised approximately $676 in cash ahead of time.
They got the Days Inn to generously match $500 of their donations, as well as the Tufford Food Staff donated food and cash
to the Police's side of the challenge.

The Bridgewater/New Germany Paramedics took $200 out of their staff fund to buy groceries, and quite a few other
South Shore paramedics donated groceries to fill the Ambulance ahead of time.
we had Approximately $500 in Groceries before Saturdays event. We had a fantastic turn out for the day and everyone should be
very proud of themselves.

Thank you to Denise Penney, Managers & staff of the Bridgewater Atlantic Superstore,  all the Bridgewater Police Service, the South Shore Paramedics, The Days Inn, Tufford Food Staff, O'Regans' & Mr. Ko from Ko's Restaurant as well as all the other local businesses, we really appreciate all your support.
And we cannot forget to thank the community,  without community support this never would have been such an amazing success. Thank you so much to everyone who came out to support the Bridgewater Inter-Church Foodbank.

Dolores Kendall, Food & Beverage Manager of Tufford Foods and Marsha Mosher, Assistant Manager of Days Inn, bring a generous donation of food and cash. Days Inn matched police donations up to $500. Tufford Food staff had a ladies night out and brought in donations of money and food to their party.

  • Young Girl called 911 and kept her brother safe

  • A young girl named Kayla Rhodeniser, 11 years old, was babysitting when a stranger came to the door. She did everything right, called 911, kept her 9 year old brother safe and stayed calm. Police Officers  presented her with a certificate of recognition and gave her a bike helmet, water bottle, coloring books, kid ID fingerprint kits and tattoos for her to share with her brother. She did such a great job she deserved a little something special.
