High School students across Nova Scotia are planning prom memories - Lets help them have a safe prom

The Bridgewater Police would like to congratulate all graduates on achieving an important milestone. During this exciting time in your life Bridgewater Police are encouraging youth when planning their celebrations to plan for a safe evening so it does not turn into a tradegy.

Safety Tips for your exciting night
- Avoid alcohol as it will impair your judgement
- Do not drink and drive. Impaired driving can result in serious injury or death
- Seat belts save lives! Wear your seatbelt as you travel to and from events
- Be responsible while behind the wheel. Do not talk on your cell phone, or text while driving. Poor choices can potentially endanger you, your passengers, and other people on the road.
- Be a good friend. Evening if you planned to make responsible decisions some of your friends could feel pressure to do something they do not want to do.
- Discuss your plans for the night with your parents or guardians. Let them know who you will be with and where you will be after prom or graduation
- Take a cell phone in an event you need to contact someone in an emergency
- If you feel uncomfortable in a situation call a parent or a trust adult and request a drive home.
