Alleged Assault Victim Airlifted to Hospital

At approximately 1:30am, Saturday, the 24th of March 2012, Bridgewater Police received a call for assistance at a local lounge. The complainant advised there have been an altercation inside the establishment and a man was unconscious and bleeding from the head.

Police and EHS personnel responded to the location. Upon arrival it was determined a 30 year old Lunenburg County man had suffered a head injury. He was transported by EHS to SSRH initially for treatment than airlifted by Air Ambulance to the QEII Hospital in Halifax for further treatment.

A 20 year old Lunenburg County man was arrested nearby initially for intoxication in Public Place. Subsequent investigation into the circumstances of this incident resulted in a charge of Assault Causing Bodily Harm being laid against the above noted. The accused was released on conditions and will be appearing in Bridgewater Provincial Court on May 30th, 2012.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed this incident for their assistance. Witnesses are encouraged to call the Bridgewater Police Service at 543-2464
