The Kids 'N' Kops program was developed for children ages 9-12 who are on the waiting list for a Big Brother or Big Sister. Kids 'N' Kops is based on a partnership between the Bridgewater Police Service and the South Shore Big Brothers/Big Sisters. The week is comprised of a mini police academy with recreational component. The morning includes activities with police officers and police partners such as crime scene investigations, K-9 scenarios, fire safety demonstrations and fingerprinting. The afternoon includes physical activities such as swimming, sports and beach fun. The Kids 'N' Kops program will be supervised by volunteers and staff of the Bridgewater Police Service and Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
This years Kids 'N' Kops Program took place at the Bridgewater Police Station, July 13th - 17th and August 10th to August 14th, 2009.

The Kids learn that note taking is an important part of police work. Here they learn about taking notes in regards to evidence retrieval. The children from the Kids 'N' Kops program spent a fun afternoon with Miss Reba, a specially trained dog. Aux. Cst. Creig Veinot, owner and trainer of Miss Reba, explained to the children how these special dogs are able to find missing people, search for drugs and articles and track individuals who may be trying to hide from the police. Miss Reba put on an excellent show as she demonstrated to the Kids 'N' Kops kids how she does her job. The Kids returned to the Police Station with "evidence" in tow and learned how to lift fingerprints and document their evidence.
